SOUP KITCHEN
This design is meant to be a logo for a soup kitchen titled "Soup Kitchen". The design will be printed onto aprons and possibly other products of the non-profit.
I decided to use a soup bowl and steam as my main image in the design because of the title of the kitchen. I chose the font "Bakery" for the title because I enjoyed the smoothness of the cursive and the gritty texture of the font as well.
In order to achieve an organic look for this design, I smudged charcoal on printer paper. I then scanned that paper, cropped the design, and liquefied it. This created the steam.
For the bowl, I found a clip art image online and traced it onto paper. I scanned the image and added it to my design. This is how the first image in this post was created.
I decided that the pen and ink drawing of the bowl did not match the gritty, charcoal drawn steam. In order to match the textures, I used the healing brush in Photoshop to take the design from the steam and transfer it to the bowl.
